How do I know if I am dehydrated?
Common signs of dehydration include dark yellow or amber-colored urine, which is one of the most reliable indicators. You might also experience dry mouth, increased thirst, fatigue, dizziness, headache, or decreased urination. In more severe cases, you may notice rapid heartbeat, sunken eyes, or confusion.
A simple way to check is the skin turgor test: pinch the skin on the back of your hand and release it. If it takes more than a couple of seconds to return to normal, you may be dehydrated. Pale yellow urine generally indicates good hydration, while clear urine can mean overhydration and dark urine signals you need to drink more fluids soon.
