The easiest method is to use a plunger. Make sure there's enough water in the bowl to cover the rubber cup, place it over the drain hole, and push down firmly then pull up repeatedly to create suction. Do this 10 to 15 times and flush to see if it clears. If you don't have a plunger, try pouring hot (not boiling) water mixed with a few squirts of dish soap into the bowl from waist height and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. The soap lubricates the clog and the water pressure can break it up. You can also use a wire coat hanger straightened out to manually break apart the blockage if it's close to the drain opening.
