What should you eat before an early morning workout?
Before an early morning workout, you want something light and easy to digest that gives you quick energy without weighing you down. A small snack 30 to 60 minutes before is ideal, such as a banana, a piece of toast with peanut butter, or a small bowl of oatmeal. These provide fast-acting carbohydrates to fuel your muscles and a bit of protein or fat to sustain energy.
If you're working out within 15 to 20 minutes of waking, even just a banana or a few dates can work. Avoid heavy meals, high-fat foods, or large amounts of fiber right before exercise, as these slow digestion and can cause cramping or discomfort during your workout.
