However, what makes Manchester feel so relentlessly wet is the frequency of rain days rather than the total volume. Rain can fall on well over 140 days per year, spread fairly evenly across all months, meaning there are very few extended dry spells. This contrasts with places that might receive similar or greater annual rainfall but concentrate it in a distinct wet season, leaving long dry periods in between.
